Client Service Director (m/f/x)

As Client Service Director, you join the blue2purple Board as the owner of our most critical asset: our client relationships. You’ll lead a team of Performance Strategists, manage the P&L of your department, and serve as the strategic anchor that prevents churn and unlocks organic growth. This is a role for someone who thinks in partnerships, not contracts, and who understands that lasting client value is built in the room long before the renewal conversation.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will operate as a key voice at Board level, contributing to the agency’s long-term strategic direction while owning full accountability for client revenue and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Client Relationship at the Highest Level

  • Lead strategic Client Loops: Yearly Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews for Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients, and selectively for Tier 3 clients to grow them into T2.
  • Build deep, lasting partnerships with C-level executives by understanding their business challenges far beyond the media brief.
  • Act as the ultimate escalation point for crisis management, de-escalating tensions and protecting the business relationship with diplomacy and strategic focus.

Drive Commercial Growth & Service Positioning

  • Co-create blue2purple’s service offering and define its market positioning, including service packages and overarching pricing policy.
  • Lead pricing policy application and contract negotiations for new business, and oversee the structuring of client onboarding contracts.
  • Steer and monitor the farming pipeline using dedicated tracking dashboards to drive profitability and organic growth.

Lead with Full P&L Accountability

  • Own the Gross Margin and full P&L of your department.
  • Make high-level operational decisions, including managing financial commitments and knowing when to strategically say no.
  • Bear ultimate responsibility for the achievement of client and marketing KPIs across your portfolio.

Build & Elevate Your Team

  • Manage 5 Performance & Marketing Strategists as their direct N+1, setting clear frameworks, targets, and ways of working.
  • Run regular 1-on-1s and HR performance loops to foster a culture of excellence, commercial awareness, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Lead as a « leader of leaders », giving your team the autonomy to run their own accounts while holding the strategic bar high

Requirements

Hard Skills

  • Proven experience managing a P&L, Gross Margin, and department-level budgets including staffing and payroll 
  • Deep expertise in crafting service packages, defining pricing policies, and closing complex contract negotiations.
  • 7+ years of senior experience in client services within an agency environment, with a track record of driving new business and farming growth.
  • Strong foundational understanding of digital performance and BI sufficient to credibly own client KPIs and marketing targets.

  • Empowering leader: you manage your team, setting direction without micromanaging, and developing people who develop people.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in an independent or mid-size agency environment.
  • Familiarity with digital performance channels (paid search, social, programmatic) at a strategic level.
  • A track record of personally converting Tier 3 accounts into long-term Tier 1 partnerships.
  • Fluency in French and/or Dutch in addition to English is a plus in our Brussels environment.
